About

Aging may be the destiny of human beings, but not all species age and not all do that at the same rate. And the Longevity Letter blog is a tiny virtual place where I discuss how different animals/plants/microorganisms age so that one day humans will not have to. I do that by discussing peer-reviewed papers and while I don’t post according to a regular schedule, I do my best so that each blog post is insightful and practical.

An early fascination with life extension prompted me to study both engineering and medicine. After graduation, I underwent a short research term in a neural prosthetics German lab. A PhD dropout later as I acknowledged the limits of implanting artificial devices in the human body, I came back to Romania where I completed the medical residency in geriatrics and gerontology.

  1. Anca, thank you for sharing your thoughts. A lot of your research is beyond my understanding, but your passion is inspiring.
